Information and Rules from PlanPlus 2013 Global Financial Planning Awards
Entry is limited to someone with a recognized financial planning designation who is in good standing with a financial planning or other professional body or association. Submissions are open to anyone wishing to enter and are in no way limited to users of PlanPlus.
An entry fee of $50 USD must be submitted with your entry. An advisor is restricted to one entry. All proceeds from entry fees will be donated by PlanPlus to a Charity of its choice focused on financial services (i.e. financial literacy, research).
Only Finalists will be required to submit the actual plan document on which their submission was based (less client identifying information).
Pursuant to financial planning practice standards, the advisor should have an engagement agreement in place to ensure that full disclosure of all material facts has been made to the client. This includes but is not limited to: how the planner is compensated, disclosure of all commissions, fees, etc. as well as disclosure of any conflicts of interest. Failure to meet this requirement may result in a point penalty when the scoring rubric is applied.
The recommendations made to the client must be based on what is suitable for the client but must also clearly be in the best interests of the client.
The client will have the option of taking part in the interview.
If in the opinion of the judges there is no current entry that meets the standard that we have envisioned in creating the award, then no award will be presented in that region.
The Americas boundaries will be any country west of Bermuda and east of Hawaii. Russia, Africa and the Middle East will compete in the Europe region. Australia and New Zealand will compete in the Asia region.
Submissions will be accepted between July 1 and Sept. 2, 2013. Finalists will be announced by Sept. 6th, with Winners announced on Sept. 15th.

Our goal is to provide a forum for planners to be judged based solely on the quality of their work.
